How wash return is calculated
Wash return is the weight of the dried hash you collect divided by the weight of the plant material that went into the wash, as a percentage. 1,000 g of material that gives 40 g of hash is a 4% return. Enter your grades and the calculator adds them up for the total, or enter the total on its own.
Fresh frozen vs dried material
Fresh frozen material still holds most of its water, so the same plants weigh far more going into the wash than they would dried. That’s why fresh frozen returns read lower than dried returns for the same plants, and why the two shouldn’t be compared directly. Choose the one that matches your starting material.
Return and share by grade
For each micron grade, return is that grade’s weight as a share of the starting material, and share is that grade as a part of all the hash you collected. Head-stash share adds up the 120µ, 90µ and 73µ grades as a share of the total. It’s a rough proxy for where the heads landed, not a quality grade: what counts as head stash varies by plant and by washer.
Rosin return
Rosin return is the rosin you collect divided by the weight of what went into the press, hash or flower. Pressing 10 g of hash for 7 g of rosin is a 70% return. If you also entered a wash, the overall figure estimates how much rosin your starting material gives: wash return × rosin return.
Comparing with Hashcore lines
Pick a strain to see the averages recorded for it, with the number of runs they come from. They’re a reference point, not a target: your material, timing and technique all move the numbers.
Grams and ounces
Enter every weight in grams. The oz option only changes how weights are shown in the results; every calculation is done in grams, and results are rounded to two decimals.
